She can’t be tamed…
So, my lovely readers, I have another story for you. Yesterday, like most days, my boss sent me an email with things that she needed done for the day. Most of it was typical: calling the Four Seasons to check prices and availability, finding reviews on several books she is considering reading and turning into a script. You know, those types of things. Well, she had another, seemingly normal task for me that turned out to be really great.
Lisa, the director of Double Feature Film’s upcoming movie, is in town working on details for the film. They are in the heat of prep — we start shooting in 3 weeks — so things are crazy. She was doing some work with costumes and needed a ride to one of her friend’s houses, so Taylor asked me if I’d be willing to go get her and drive her there. If I’ve learned anything since I’ve been out here it’s that you should take every opportunity you’re given and run with it. You never know what you’ll get into or who you’ll meet.
Well, it turns out that Lisa was at Miley Cyrus’s home. When I parked the car and walked into the entry way to call for Lisa, guess who I was greeted by…?! Miley herself. She walked in and I told her I was here for Lisa, so she passed the message on. Then she was like, “Hi, we didn’t get to officially meet yesterday, but I’m Miley.” I was shocked that she even remembered who I was, much less made a point to introduce herself. She asked me about my role at Double Feature, so I explained that I was an intern for the summer and so forth. She was running to go change for a doctor’s appointment, but before she ran upstairs she said she was glad we had “officially” met and that hopefully she’d see me around soon. As she ran off, I shouted “definitely — have a great afternoon, Miley!”
I love my job.
And it turns out the friend whose house I was taking Lisa to is the soon-to-be ex-wife of GUESS? jeans designer, Marciano. The house was the most beautiful set up I’ve ever seen. Not the largest, sure. But it was wonderful.
Living my dream,
Blake
